About Carol
Carol Borrett paints in watercolours and acrylics out of her home studio in Maple Bay on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Much of her inspiration comes from her travels around Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Her award-winning paintings are realistic and reveal her fascination with water, boats and reflections. Her work captures the varied moods of the coastal area and way of life with a unique perspective. The soft, subtle tones of her work are blended with a distant view to create a scene of hushed introspection.
Carol sells original watercolour and acrylic paintings, limited edition giclée reproductions, and framable art cards and prints. She also does privately commissioned works. To purchase her work, or to discuss a privately commissioned work, please contact Carol.
Carol Borrett was born in Calgary, Alberta and spent her school years there developing an interest in art. The influence of prairie landscapes can be seen in her early work.
In 1985, Carol graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Education in both Art and Special Education. Carol’s pursuit of a teaching career took her to northern BC where she enjoyed experimenting with her paintings of northern landscapes. In the late 1980’s Carol relocated to the coastal community of Maple Bay on Vancouver Island and continued to teach and develop her painting style.
The success of Carol's artwork has been acknowledged with many awards. Her works have been successfully presented in several solo shows in local galleries on Vancouver Island, in group shows, and in showings at her home studio/gallery. Her artwork hangs in private and corporate collections throughout Canada. Contact Carol for any future Exhibits
